Our National Advisory Board's membership mirrors the Focus on Mathematics
mathematical community; members of the board include leaders in their
fields of mathematics education, technology, and professional development.
They have well established records of high quality and innovative work in
mathematics education and several are or have been involved in work with
other MSP's throughout the country.
On May 25, 2004, members of the Advisory Board and other highly
respected members of the mathematical community met at Boston University
with a subcommittee of the Executive Council to discuss and develop
measurements for assessing teacher content knowledge.
Agenda: May 25, 2004
On December 7, 2005, a subcommittee of the Advisory Board members and other highly respected members of the mathematical community met to plan next steps towards institutionalizing key elements of our work at Boston University and to coordinate this work with other initiatives that are already in place around the country.
More generally, the committee's task was to explore strategies for developing structures to support the involvement of mathematicians in the important work of mathematics education and education policy.
