How does the state determine the safe speed for a curve in the road?

  Getting Started

The first job is to figure out how to measure the "curvyness" of a section of road. Given a curve (like a road or a railroad track) find the largest circle that touches the road at each point. How can you use this to specify a number which gives the "curvyness" of the road? How does this number relate to the safe speed for driving?

  Going Deeper

What does it mean for a road to be "straight" at a particular point? Does an "S" curve have points where it is straight?
